Captivated

Dec 7, 2025

Are you captivated?

Today we use that word to describe something attractive, charming, or exciting—but in Scripture, it means something very different. In the Bible, captivated means to be held captive… taken alive.

In this message, “Are You Captivated?”, we uncover one of the enemy’s most subtle but destructive strategies against believers: the snare of offense. Scripture shows that Satan sets traps the same way a fowler did in the ancient world—hidden, camouflaged, baited, and triggered the moment we step into them.

Using 2 Timothy 2:23–26 and Psalm 91, we explore how offense looks small but captures big—stealing our joy, clouding our focus, and holding our hearts hostage. Like a bird caught in a hidden noose, we can be alive yet not free, stuck replaying wounds, limping spiritually, and unable to move forward in God’s purpose.

But the good news is this: the snare can break. Through repentance, humility, and forgiveness, Jesus frees us from what we could never free ourselves from. This message will help you identify the bait, recognize the trap, and step into the freedom God designed for you.
