The Emo Generation

God designed us to experience emotions, not to be ruled by them. God’s Word and God’s Spirit reveal Jesus and establish our identity in Him. But when we neglect His Word, live disconnected from His presence we create a void. And eventually, something else will step in and begin defining us and controlling us.

1. Are your emotions informing you, or controlling you?

2. Who gets to tell you who you are: your feelings, your circumstances, or Jesus?

Jeremiah 17:9 The heart is deceitful above all things

Ephesians 4:26 Be angry and do not sin; do not let the sun go down on your anger

1 Peter 5:7 Casting all your anxieties on him, because he cares for you.
